"...Rather, let the greatest among you be as the youngest, and the leader as the servant. For who is greater: the one seated at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one seated at the table? I am among you as the one who serves."
Luke 22: 26-27
Do you believe Christ is calling you to serve and more fully experience His Grace, the joy and the fellowship of the Mass? Here is your opportunity to share your Spiritual gifts together with your fellow parishioners by coming closer together in Christ through the celebration of the Mass.
Altar Servers
All Parishioners (adult and youth) over age 8 may be trained to assist the priest at Mass and other liturgical events. Children who have received their First Communion are welcomed to serve.
Ushers & Greeters
This ministry represents hospitality at the Eucharistic celebration. Greeters welcome worshipers to Church, answer questions pertaining to parish activities and distribute worship aids. Ushers help with seating before and during Mass and gather offertory collections.
Music Ministry
The Music Ministry fosters the active participation of the faithful through singing. While all members of the congregation are encouraged to sing most of the music at Mass, the Music Ministry has the responsibility of leadership. Members commit time to weekly practices, meeting at the Church on Wednesday evenings. Anyone interested in joining, can simply show up to practice each Wednesday. Cantors begin at 5:00 pm followed by all choir members beginning at 5:30pm.
Lectors
Lectors serve by welcoming the assembly, they set the tone of the Mass, and proclaim the first and second readings of God's Word during scheduled Masses. Lector workbooks are provided.
Eucharistic Ministers
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, as they are officially designated, are lay people who assist in the distribution of the Eucharist and Precious Blood at Mass. They are also called to bring Holy Communion to Catholics in hospitals, nursing facilities and those who are homebound.
"The Mass never ends, it must be lived. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord and each other"
The late Deacon Stanley J. Gogol, Jr.
