“Let the Children Come to Me”
Children were brought to Jesus that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them, but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:13-15
Parish School of Religion (PSR): This religious education program invites children who are in 1st through 8th grade to meet for instruction about the Faith. Preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion takes place in the 1st and 2nd grades, and Confirmation in the 7th and 8th grades.
Program orientation is the first Sunday after Labor Day. A parent or guardian is required to attend the first week with the registered child/children.
PSR is held in Fr. Kelly Hall, 105 West Hudson Avenue, from 9:50am-10:50am most Sundays. There is no classroom instruction the fourth Sunday of each month. However on the fourth Sundays, the children and their families are expected to attend the 9:00am Children's Mass in the church. Attending Mass is our loving response to God, who loved us first. The children will have active roles in these Masses as lectors and ushers. Families are invited to attend the Parish Breakfast hosted by the Men's Club every fourth Sunday following Mass for fellowship and good food.
Registration forms are available here and in the binder at the back of the church. Forms may be returned to the parish office at 106 West Erie Avenue, mailed to PO Box 1257, Folly Beach, SC 29439 or placed in the collection basket at Mass. Fees will be assessed on the first Sunday of class and are due at that time. Information about fees can be found on the back of the registration form.
